  Hey Guys,

This is m first time on the message board. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement for my first tri. It was lot's of fun. The swim was my weakness, so I started swimming in between my classes this past week with some UT Tyler swimmers and triathletes, they kicked my tail but I did the workout, hopefully this will help in my next once since the swim is 1500 meters.

Congrats to Carlos on Ironman UK! He did superb. Keep up the good work. Duke is doing an awesome job with this website. I mean that sincerely!

Just wanted to say that Kami did great on the Killer Hill TT on thursday night. 6min. 52sec. is a very good time for those couple of hills. Brady & I could hardly keep standing afterward. David Gearsch is king of the hill.

I talked to Rick today (Fri.). He tells me the temperature there is 97 deg. He hopes a cold front comes in before Sunday. A blend of UK & Luisville weather would be just about right. Good luck Sunday, Rick. I'll think about you while I'm on my 300m pool swim, 12mi bike & whopping 2.8mi run. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Congratulations William at The Colony. You did great.

Sorry i missed everyone today but i had a football game to video and did not make it until about 4. But I did meet a new guy named Chuck who wants to train with us on Saturdays so hopefully he can make it this coming weekend. And I swam around the lake today and the Garmin worked (fully charged batts) it was 1.43 miles and I cut off 1 cove and did not go all the way to the boat dock so I would say if you stuck to the edge very tight you can get 1.6 to 1.7 miles but it was a good swim it was just a bit un nerving swimming it the first time with know one else out there.

I have a few end-of-season items for sale on eBay. One is a Louis Garneau Chrono aero helmet, size M, and the other is a set of Profile Design Carbon GT Jammer bars. I wish I was rich enough that I could just give these away to deserving newbies, but as a Texas school teacher--you know what we're [not] paid--I'm afraid I need the money. :(

Great turn out Saturday at TSP we got some good swimming and running in and a big thanks to Chauncey for the swim tips. I would like to do this next Saturday as well July 7th and add a few trail runs as well. I never ran trails before but after doing them the last few weeks I like it. I hope to see you all there Saturday at 9:00 but I do think the next picnic area to the left may be better for us it is a bit bigger and we will not have to contend with the divers.
  Sunday, July 1st 2007 - 07:11:52 PM

Steve Farris
Kami & I will meet @ 8:00 am sat. at TSP to run a couple of loops (6.2mi) before the swim at 9:00. We will run approx. 9 min. pace (if I can corral her). We won't be able to run off road right now.
  Friday, June 29th 2007 - 03:24:38 PM

Kami Nedbalek [e]
Steve & I are meeting at TSP tomorrow at 8:00 to run the loop twice before we swim. If anyone wants to join us for one or two loops, that would be great.
  Friday, June 29th 2007 - 01:38:39 PM

Kami Nedbalek [e]
Steve & I plan to meet at Tyler State Park at 8:00 to run the 5k loop twice before we swim at 9:00. If anyone wants to join us for one or two loops, that would be great. (I've never run trails, and, as a former ankle-turner, am leary of trying that, at least for now, but it sounds like fun.) If I can get my 16-year-old son to come, I will.

Tomorrow is early registration deadline for Jefferson.

Clifford [e]
I am planning to be at Tyler state park on Saturday at 9:00 same place just to the left of the swimming beach at the picnic tables if the first set are taken then drive to the second set. I understand some folks would like to meet on Sunday that is fine with me except this Sunday it is my son’s birthday so I can’t go then. I hope many of you can make it and bring your running shoes we can do a trail run after the swim. One other tink I hope for us to be able to do is bring our spouses sometimes they are left out this would be a way for them to meet and not feel left at home. I will also bring some charcoal so if you want to bring some chicken, burgers, or something else bring it out and we can take turns burning food.

Thanks for all of your support. I appreciate everyone's help and encouragement especially with Carlos not here. I will miss the TSP swim sat. The water & course are great right now. I feel sorry for whoever runs with Kami in those hills. Good luck. We can't let Carlos out-train us. Sounnds like he is in full swing (and getting tan, I bet). Maybe between all of us, we can match his mileage. Carlos, I'll think of you this weekend, wishing you could be there. I still say you moved back just to avoid Buffalo Springs. Everyone enjoy training this weekend. (think Jefferson)

Howdy! There is a group of folks who are meeting tonight, Tuesday, June 12, at Tyler State Park for an open swim. We will probably leave from the area that is to the left of the main swim area--take the little path to the first picnic area. From here it is a 1/4 mile swim across the lake and you avoid the main swimming area.
